BIRD, Lucknow conducted a 5-day training programme on “Sustainable Rural Livelihood” from 2nd to 6th September 2013 at Dharmasthala, Karnataka. Participants representing commercial, rural and cooperative banks, NGOs and Government Departments from the Southern States of India  attended the  programme.


The programme was conducted at Belthangdi campus of SKDRDP. Padmabhushan Shri Veerendra Heggade, Honourable Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala in his address to the participants touched upon the issues and challenges of livelihoods in rural areas and exhorted them to strive hard for ensuring sustainability. Livelihood holds the key for integrated development of the poor, he asserted.
